Browser Architect ("we", "us", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy through a
local-first architecture.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Browser Architect operates on a zero-collection principle:
- No data collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally
identifiable information
- No tracking: Zero analytics, metrics, or behavioral tracking
- No external servers: No data ever leaves your device
- User-initiated only: Tab data is accessed only when you explicitly click "Capture"
2. Data Storage
All data is stored locally using Chrome's Storage API:
- Session snapshots, topics, and URLs remain on your device
- Data is tied to your browser profile
- No cloud storage or external databases
- No synchronization to external services
3. Permissions Usage
Tabs Permission
- Used exclusively for capturing tab URLs and titles when you initiate a snapshot
- No background monitoring or continuous access
- Data immediately stored locally, never transmitted
TabGroups Permission
- Reads Tab Group names and colors during capture to preserve your organization
- No modification of existing Tab Groups
Storage Permission
- Stores your organizational data locally using chrome.storage.local
- No access to browsing history or other extension data
UnlimitedStorage Permission
- Allows extensive session libraries without quota restrictions
- Does not enable any data transmission
4. Data Portability and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Export: Download your complete library as JSON at any time
- Import: Restore backups or merge data from multiple sources
- Delete: Clear all data via "Empty Trash" or uninstall the extension
- Ownership: Your data belongs to you, stored only on your device
5. No Third-Party Access
Browser Architect contains:
- No third-party analytics services
- No advertising networks
- No tracking pixels or beacons
- No external API calls
6. Opening External Links
When you click "Open" on saved URLs, you navigate to those websites via your browser. Those sites are
subject to their own privacy policies — Browser Architect has no involvement in or access to your
interactions with external websites.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. Changes will be
indicated by the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes
acceptance of the revised policy.
